Imbedded in social emotional learning programs/Trauma sensitive schools plans
Positive school climate efforts
PBIS at 33 schools, Sanford Harmony at some elementary schools
Trauma informed practices
School based teams at each school trained 2/3 times per year. Focusing on building safe/supportive schools, teaching about stress, self regulation skills, building relationships. Teams develop school based plans to increase trauma sensitive schools practices.
Student-led initiatives
Hope Squads - 4 schools/ Mental health awareness and suicide prevention
Character education
Classroom guidance, school specific programs
Restorative practices Tier 1 approaches
Training across district by River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding. Educator/Youth Dialogues, PLCs, restorative practices included in student code of conduct.
